When my parents gave me a dachshund puppy, Joey, for my 11th birthday, I decided to become a vet. I grew up, I always behaved in the house, but when I got Joey I was always a bit nervous. I had to make a decision whether I wanted to do it or not.
Joey and I moved to West Lafayette, Indiana, where my husband continued his education at Purdue University. During this time, my family grew and moved several times until they finally settled in Oklahoma City with our two boys and two cats. Over time, we took in more pets from Purdue and expanded our family, and we moved back and forth between Oklahoma City and our hometown of Lafayette.
Joey was a constant companion and support throughout my turbulent teenage years and he was with me when I took the step. When I went to Whitworth University in Spokane, WA, Joey was sitting next to me on the couch in my study and was gone in no time. While I was devastated to lose my faithful companion, I am grateful that he left quickly and without suffering.
At Lap of Love, our mission is to offer the same compassion and guidance to this family as they navigate this difficult time in their lives. It would be an honor for us to help them in this time of need and I am so grateful for the opportunity.
Emergency veterinary services can cost a lot of money, so you should prepare for future needs as soon as possible. It is best to expect high costs and have a financial plan in place, as emergency clinics often require payment at the time of treatment. Emergency services are available when vets are closed or unavailable, and your pet can receive the best possible care at any time. Our qualified staff will help you if your family's veterinary practice is closed or if you have urgent care needs.
Bella's SPCA will provide funding at the cost stated in the list of procedures. We will limit funding to a period of twelve (12) months starting on or after that date, and provide a total of $1,000 per pet per year for emergency veterinary care for each household.

Bella's SPCA requires a working adult to provide documentation stating the amount, source of income and proof of identity. If household income exceeds 200% of the federal poverty guidelines, additional hardship cases are taken into account and presented.
To ensure that you provide sufficient cover for your beloved pet, please read our Terms and Conditions and Guidelines. If you have already seen an ER vet at Bella's SPCA or another animal hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, ask him to help you. Although we are not responsible for what your pet does when it is sick, you can rely on our veterinarians to provide you with the best possible care.
Our specialists can do everything you need safely, efficiently and cost-effectively for the health and well-being of your pet.

Use the right keywords, names and cities to find the nearest clinic that suits your pet's needs. Some vets you have worked with in the past have been kind enough to recommend some of the best ER vets in your city. Take a specialisation course (four or more years) to be prepared for a specific area of veterinary medicine. Execute a search by entering "Oklahoma City Oklahoma City Veterinary Medicine" or "OKLAHOMA City Animal Hospital."
The SPCA requires recipients to work up to 8 hours of their time as volunteers and to volunteer at least one day a week. If the owner is unable to voluntarily register due to physical limitations, other arrangements may be made.
General practitioners are qualified for emergencies and prefer to provide a 24-hour hotline that customers can call at any time.
If your animal has a broken leg after an accident, doctors will check for signs of internal injuries to recommend the most appropriate medical measures. If you can explain the condition of your pet to the veterinarian, record your observations and create a checklist. Many cities have emergency surgeries that work in the evenings and weekends when the regular vets are not working. However, it is always best to carry out an extended search when you find the location of a veterinary clinic you and your pets know, in order to save time in an emergency.
Most cases will not last more than 30 days and will not involve multiple treatments or elective procedures. The most common types of emergency surgery in Oklahoma City consist of a single procedure or operation.
