There are a few notable individuals who originated in Oklahoma City. Among these are Jeff Rowland, Matt Hoffman, Jim Thorpe, Color Me Badd, Suzy Amis and Lon Chaney.

 

Among the famous inventors of the area are Carl Magee and Sylan Goldman. Magee patented the shopping cart. Magee is renowned for the parking meter.

This town’s economy is supported by Dell Computers, America On-Line and General Motors.
