Mickey Mantle's Steakhouse: enjoy the memories of a legend

May 2, 2010

Mickey Mantle was a baseball legend and a native of Oklahoma, so it makes perfect sense that the restaurant created to carry on his memory would be located just across the street from the Bricktown Ballpark. Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse is filled with memorabilia from Mantle’s baseball days including trophies, uniforms, photos and more.  The main dining room offers an elegant décor that is beautifully accented with cherry wood and brick. Then, over in the lounge you’ll find a more relaxing vibe with live music every Friday and Saturday night from local artists featuring jazz and blues house beats.

Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse is a local favorite hot spot for steak and seafood delights. The menu features over 150 domestic and imported wines which pair perfectly with the entrée selections. Start things off with one or two of Mantle’s amazing appetizers; try the fried asparagus, shrimp cocktail or Maryland style crab cakes to start.

As far as entrée options go, this is the meatiest list around. Select from more than a dozen varieties of steaks and chops including rib eye, porterhouse, filet mignon, rack of lamb and veal chops. They don’t call it a Steakhouse for nothing! For a little surf with your turf try the Alaskan king crab legs, lobster tail, shrimp scampi, salmon and more.

Have a sweet tooth? You’ll want to be sure to save some room for desert. The chocolate mousse and crème brulèe are a heavenly way to top off your meal. But, don’t drift off into a food coma just yet; enjoy a Bricktown coffee with your desert—coffee served with amaretto, Irish cream and dark cocoa then garnished with a cinnamon sugar rim, whipped cream and a cherry.

After your meal, enjoy a stroll through the Bricktown canal, you’ll find live entertainment, canal water taxi rides and other entrainment venues. Mickey Mantle’s Steakhouse is just a short walk from the Harkins Theater and the RedPin Restaurant and Bowling Lounge.
