Tiger Safari: Experience the wild kingdom up close
Jul 25, 2010
Visit Tiger Safari for an exciting hands-on experience where you can marvel at the majestic beauty and power of the animal kingdom. A tour guide will lead you through the Safari where you’ll get a chance to meet a Capuchin Monkey, Fennec Foxes and a Ring-Tailed Lemur.
If you’re really feeling the “hands-on” part of the Safari tour, you can feel tigers, bears and many other animals in the petting zoo. Along the way you might get a chance to hold a kangaroo, alligator and even a snake. Other cute critters you’ll see at the Tiger Safari include the tortoise, deer, hedgehog, camel, emu and much more. In the bird atrium you’ll see a wide variety of feathered friends including parrots, macaws and cockatoos.
The Tiger Safari offers a variety of Zoo to You packages—bringing the animal experience to you, this is a great way to liven up your next party or event (60 minute shows). The Classic Zoomobile package is a great option for children ages 6 and up and offers hands-on experience where children will learn about the different characteristics of three animal classifications—mammals, birds and reptiles.
Or, embark on a World Safari adventure with live animals from many of the world’s continents and learn interesting facts about their geographic locations that have influenced the animals’ adaptations and special skills. Then, with the Magnificent Mammals package, experience a fun-filled program devoted entirely mammals. Learn all about what adaptations have helped them to survive, what they eat, where they live and how they move about. Visit the Tiger Safari website for a complete list of Zoo to You packages and to schedule the Zoomobile for your next event.
Celebrate your party at the Safari, chose from two animal themed rooms that offer either a tropic rain forest or lion savanna motif or select from one of the outdoor pavilion areas. Party packages come with two hours of space usage for the first 15 guests and a private safari tour including petting zoo and animal feeding station ($155, add $5 for each additional guest). For additional costs you can purchase party decorations, snacks and a cake. Check with the Tiger Safari staff for current pricing and additional items when scheduling your party.
HelloOklahomaCity Tip: The animals are most active in the late afternoon to early evening, so to maximize your experience the best time to visit is during the sundowner safari tour. During this tour you will get an opportunity to have your picture taken while you hold and feed baby animals.
