Orr Family Farm: Wholesome fun from their family to yours!

Jul 8, 2010

Open since 2003, the Orr Family Farm offers visitors a chance to enjoy a fun filled family adventure on a real working farm. There are four generations of Orrs’ that make this family owned and operated farm fantastic. Dr. Glenn Orr, a retired veterinarian and horseman, opened the farm after more than 30 years of operating the Celestial Acres horse farm with the help of his wife, Shari. Today, Orr’s son Tom and his wife Debbie and their five children enjoy working on the farm. While you visit the farm, you're an honorary member of the Orr family.

At the Orr Family Farm you’ll find a little something for everyone to enjoy, first take a ride on the vintage carousel, test your racing skills on the three-lane Orr grand prix race track with pedal cars, take a pony ride, go fishing in the Hidden Lake and relax on an old-fashioned hay ride. Then, it’s all aboard the farm train—take a 25-minute trip around the farm and get the full tour along the Hidden Lake dam, the wedding garden, two ponds and more. After your ride, test your mining skills at the gemstone mine where you can pan for semi-precious stones.

Next, gather up your whole family for an old-fashioned photo and create a memorable souvenir, with a variety of old town scenes including the Civil War and the Old West. Photo pricing for a family of four includes your choice of four sheets for $75. Other packages are available as well. Then, enjoy a delicious and authentic farm fresh meal—chose from a plate of BBQ brisket with all of the fixings, or something lighter like hotdogs, pizzas, popcorn, snow cones and more.

During the fall months, take a journey through the corn maze and enjoy other seasonal events like the pumpkin field hayride and the Halloween festival. Then, during the holiday season be sure to stop by and visit with Santa Claus and view more than half of a million lights as the Orr Family Farm is transformed into a winter wonderland. There’s a lot of seasonal fun to be had for just about every major holiday throughout the year, visit the Orr Family Farm website for more information on upcoming events.
