Celebrate the rich heritage of Oklahoma at the annual Oklahoma State Fair on September 16-26, 2010. This year’s line-up is chock full of fantastic events, concerts, games, competitions, food, a rodeo and much more. The Oklahoma State Fair draws fierce competitors from across the state that come to show their stuff in the livestock, horse, wine and creative arts competitions. The creative arts competition includes a wide range of arts including photography, fine arts, crafts, cooking and more.

Kick things off with a very special production of Disney On Ice presents Let’s Celebrate! Families will enjoy this uplifting extravaganza as more than 50 Disney characters take to the ice, skating to classic and contemporary songs. The show will run from September 16-21 with ticket prices ranging from $14-$35. Tickets go on sale July 10, 2010.

There’s going to be a lot of horsing around at the State Fair with a full schedule of Horse Shows to check out. The schedule includes the Gypsy and Draft horse show, Cowboy Church Ministry, Tri-K barrel race and exhibition, a miniature donkey show and a Draft horse overload pull competition.  Most performances will be held in the arena barn #6.

Then, for a bit more live entertainment be sure to check the listings of concerts, shows and other events. Or, head over to the fairgrounds games and rides area to test your skills at one of the many carnival games and win yourself a prize. If you’re a thrill seeker, then the carnival rides unlimited wristband is the way to go! Enjoy all of the rides you can handle for $20 on Monday-Thursday and $25 on the weekend.

HelloMetro Tip: Carnival rides unlimited passes are offered at a discounted rate of $14 on Thursday‘s only when you bring a can of Dr Pepper to the ticket booth. Other State Fair discounts include admission specials like the dollar day admission (9/17), school kids’ day free (9/21), two dollar Tuesday (9/22), armed forces day (9/22) and senior day (9/23).
