White Water Bay: Splash, slide and a dive-in movie!

May 7, 2010

Open since 1981, White Water Bay is Oklahoma City’s largest amusement park for wet summer fun in the sun with more than 30 rides, slides, pools and more. Hang-ten in the Wave Pool or test your courage on the six-story-tall Mega Wedgie slide. Then, tube down the Big Kahuna with your whole family. Then, float your way to a relaxing day in the Castaway Creek.  Enjoy kid-sized fun at Kid’s Kove where you’ll find an octopus, submarine and other fun characters to slide and climb on. Another great family attraction is the Ship Wreck Island—an activity pool with lily pads, jumping rocks and body slides.

During the month of July, visitors can relax poolside and enjoy a dive-in movie on the big screen every Friday night. First, kicking things off with Paul Blart Mall Cop (7/2), Monsters vs. Aliens (7/9), Transformers Revenge of the Fallen (7/16), Hotel for Dogs (7/23) and finally, Back to the Future (7/30).  All movies are free with park admission.

Water parks can get busy and sometimes it’s difficult to find a shaded spot to relax, but at White Water Bay you can rent your very own Cabana for the day. Cabana rentals include a shaded structure, table, four chairs, four chaise lounges, ceiling fan, family locker, two ride tubes, a personal wait staff with order-by-phone service and 10% off of all food and beverage purchases. Monday-Thursday pricing is $100 and on Saturday-Sunday it’s $120. Make your cabana reservation in advance online.

Be sure to check out Tabogo Trading located near the main entrance where you’ll find swimwear, towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, hats and more. For you snack and meal needs, White Water Bay has several options including the Coral Reef Café—serving burgers, fries, hot dogs and drinks. Or, try Sharkey’s for pizza, beer and soft drinks. There are also an ice cream and snow cone stands throughout the park.

As a special season deal, enjoy both White Water Bay and Frontier City with a Double Park Season Pass on sale for $70. Double Park Passes and Single Park passes are available for purchase at White Water Bay’s main office, located at the front gate or online.
